JOB POSTING – Mechanical Drafter

Reports to: Engineering Manufacturing Supervisor
Position Summary

It is the responsibility of the Mechanical Drafter I to provide complete, accurate engineering drawings and documentation for all company products, with minimal supervision and to provide technical assistance to internal and external customers as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft and revise 2D and 3D mechanical drawings to include but not limited to detail, assembly, layout, schematic and diagram (electrical and fluid power), sales, parts list, catalog, fixture, and piping.
  • Create 3D models and 3D assemblies.
  • Convert manual drawings into electronic CAD files.
  • Obtain and document necessary measurements or observations in the production area.
  • Document engineering drawing information and revision history.
  • Research SAP for BOM components to compile data for use in drawings.
  • Review drafting tolerance, interference fits, machinability, drawing notes and Product specifications with Engineer when creating drawings.
  • Create hydraulic or electrical schematics with Engineers input.
  • Perform center of gravity, volume, mass and other physical property calculations using SolidWorks.
  • Compare SolidWorks 3D model BOMs with SAP BOMs and verify accuracy.
  • Convert 3D models to .STL files for additive manufacturing.
  • Load and unload parts on 3D printers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works overtime as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting or drafting field and at least two years’ drafting experience/and or training.
  • Experience using a current version of AutoCAD and Solidworks is required.
  • Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience using and applying Geometric tolerances on drawings.
  • Knowledge and experience using a 3D printer.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word and Excel.

JOB POSTING – Rotomold Machine Operator – 3rd shift

Reports to: Production Manager
Position Summary

The Rotomold Machine Operator is responsible for the overall operations of the machine and the manufacturing of good quality parts

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Programs and maintains the operation of the rotomold machine, including set up, shut down, temperature adjustments, filling buckets with powder, pulling completed parts, scraping and cleaning, as per work instructions.
  • Understands rotational molding process, mold preparation, basic mechanics, and minor maintenance including mold releases, cleaning of parting lines, burn time, temperature, cooling, etc.
  • Knows characteristics of standard resins, the proper cure, and how to check the cure.
  • Ensures good quality parts are being produced.
  •  Reads and follows the molding process sheets, corrects errors and reports to supervisor or lead.
  • Knows the quality standards of the machine as well as the critical dimensions and characteristics of each part and how to check to maintain consistency.
  • Effectively conducts a first part inspection to approve set-up.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers, supervisors, prior and subsequent shifts.
  • Organizes and cleans work area following each shift.
  • Stocks production materials appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Trade school and/or technical training is preferred.
  • A minimum of one-year rotomold operator experience is preferred.
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Performs machine set-ups, tool changes, tool offsets and minor maintenance as requested. Will perform cellular machining concept when needed. Gages and deburrs parts according to Schroeder Industries standards.
  • Understands and uses CNC set-up instructions and CNC programs where applicable.
  • Works according to work orders, engineering drawings and tooling, material and machine specifications; pulls work orders as required, including kits, fixtures, tooling, gages and deburring tools needed for production.
  • Responsible for maintenance of some fixtures and tooling and notifying Machine Shop Supervisor or Team Lead about any damaged fixtures or tooling.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of tooling based on established minimum inventory requirements.
  • Cross trains on different job tasks within the department.

  • Identifies new channels for various products and product lines.
  • Works in concert with Company personnel with related negotiation and supply of contracts.
  • Supports, recommends, guides, directs and/or implements strategies to meet the sales objectives set by the President.
  • Manage the customers’ expectations when quoting specialty items & systems. Make contacts with customers and suppliers, such as International contacts (Hydac Germany, for example) before issuing quotes.
  • Traveling (including driving) is required. Overnight travel of 40-50% travel can be expected.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Business or Engineering is required. Mechanical Engineering, Water Engineering or Environmental Engineering degreed candidate is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in filtration required, preferably with industrial process water.
  • Experience in the water, wastewater or gas industries is preferred.

Position Summary

The Technical Sales Representative I position is a technical sales role that performs product technical and sales support duties for the sales department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides technical and administrative support to internal and external customers of all Schroeder products that will include but are not limited to:

    • Develops technical and/or commercial information for customer quotations and presentations
    • Responds to customer technical inquiries regarding product specifications, applications, and performance.
    • Resolves product and/or workflow issues in assigned departments and across department lines.
    • Interacts with distributors, customers, and internal personnel to identify and help solve problems.
    • Processes corrective actions as issues arise.
  • Develops an understanding and knowledge base of all product lines, policies and procedures.
  • Works with product management to resolve product performance, applications, and how to process warranty issues to the mutual satisfaction of the customer and Schroeder Industries.
  • Completes technical product training and presentations as required for in-house and in the field.
  • The Technical Sales Representative must be able to travel, including driving and on occasion domestic travel within North America. This travel is to develop an understanding of the requirements needed to support field staff, distributors and customers and is required.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a science, engineering, or other technical field.
