JOB POSTING – Quality Engineer

Reports to: Quality Manager
Position Summary

It is the responsibility of the Quality Engineer to understand and implement the principles of our Company’s product and service quality assurance program, quality evaluation and control.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops, applies, and maintains quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products while observing ASQ Code of Ethics for Professional Conduct.
  • Assists department supervisors and managers as a resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
  • Assists Quality Manager with contract manufacturing (e.g. government contracts.)
  • Designs, documents and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Manages Non-conforming material internally and from suppliers by tracking and reporting rejected material to Purchasing and Production Teams. Coordinates with Purchasing and Production Teams on appropriate disposition for rejected material.
  • Participates as either a lead or team auditor in internal and external quality audits. As a lead auditor, coordinates internal audit schedule, issues audit plan, checklists before audit date and sends audit reports after audits to the Quality Manager, Dept. Manager and President of the Company.
  • Assists Quality Manager in maintaining ISO certification for the Company.
  • Work on various continuous improvement projects, bother inter-department and within other departments, relating to quality assurance and incoming inspection in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard.
  • Maintains QA/QC data within SAP ERP system.
  • Operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and sample components.
  • Completes customer requested PPAP’s following advanced product quality planning (APQP) framework.
  • Coordinates on-site calibration of company’s measuring equipment with 3rd party calibration laboratory and keep internal records in database up to date.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one to three years’ QA / QC experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) or similar professional certification within two (2) years of hire is required.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, quality system techniques/methodologies, common statistical tools, leadership principles and quality engineering practices are essential.

JOB POSTING – Purchasing Agent

Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Position Summary

It is the responsibility of the Purchasing Agent to plan, direct and control the purchasing and inventory planning of select products/components using the principles of lean manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Material Planning of components for select commodity groups and other duties related to such materials.
  • Performs clerical functions of re-ordering materials for the Company’s manufacturing inventories (Leetsdale and Cumberland), maintenance repair and operating supplies.
  • Process capital expenditure requests.
  • Maintains equipment lease files and open contracts such as waste management, uniforms, etc. Notifies the appropriate personnel when leases or contracts need to be renewed or changed.
  • Works with the freight companies. Track lost shipments. Submits and follows up on all freight claims. Generates parcel (Ocean and Air) insurance plan monthly report.
  • Works directly with our customs broker on freight issues.
  • Tracks ocean and air freight cost
  • Performs data entry and updating of purchasing documentation (file maintenance) as required.

  • Manages the new supplier (LD and CU) and material number (LD) set-up process.

Position Summary

It is the responsibility of the Buyer/Planner to plan, direct and control the purchasing and inventory planning of select products/components using the principles of lean manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Material Planning of components for select commodity groups.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, initiates, and monitors inventory stocking and ordering plans to support the inventory and production goals. Adjusts material plans to reflect changes in the forecast and/or business levels.
  • Supports cost reduction initiatives by sending and following-up on RFQs and summarize vendor responses.
  • Assists in monitoring the obsolete inventory.
  • Within established guidelines, takes necessary material planning activities required to satisfactorily complete new product introductions (NPI), Product Change Notices (PCN) and Product Design Reviews (PDR).
  • Manages Kan Ban, Stocking Programs and other related JIT programs of components that are required by the Company.
  • Assists in backing-up other Buyer/Planners and works with other Purchasing Personnel in a cooperative manner.
  • Assists in the Company’s annual physical inventory.
  • Visits vendors in coordination with the Purchasing Manager. Investigates vendor’s standard of quality and their ability to deliver on time.
  • Analyzes quotations before recommending or choosing sources of supply.
  • Follows-up with vendor performances, lead times, price trends and other activities.
  • Handles quality issues including initiating debit memos, NCMR reports, CPARS reports, all return transmittals and RGA returns.

JOB POSTING – Test Engineer

Reports to: FCC Manager
Position Summary

The Test Engineer I position is a hands-on position that performs high level testing and provides engineering input for current and new products and customer/application specific projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs various laboratory assignments primarily involving hydraulic test stands but also including electrical applications, electronics, instrumentation, and calibrations.
  • Develops testing procedures to replicate real world applications within the Fluid Care Center.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of product testing and product performance specifications, this individual provides value-added input such as observations and feedback during new and existing product testing, working closely with Engineering.
  • May assist in the development of new products for commercial launch, from concept through design, testing, and introduction. Supports new products after commercial introduction. Evaluates, improves, and certifies for production any new products. Such efforts would include, but are not limited to, the creation and/or design review of the following documents; SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), assembly drawings, element construction drawings, detail machining drawings, BOM’s (Bill of Material), assembly drawings, technical manuals, etc.
  • Provides engineering support for the design of new products or the modification of established products in response to company or customer requirements within the guidelines of the Company policy, cost effectiveness, manufacturability, product safety and liability, accepted engineering practices, applicable standards or regulations, and within the time constraints established by the FCC Supervisor.
  • Assists in the design of new tooling, fixtures, test equipment and prototype components as necessary.
  • Conducts and runs various tests associated with fluid analysis, including particle counting, viscosity measurement, Karl Fischer Titration, patch testing & microscopic analysis.
  • Understands, and is able to conduct multi-pass testing per ISO 16889.
  • Performs or assists in client tours/training/troubleshooting within the lab or at a client’s facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required; BSME, BSIE, BSc or BSEE is required.
