A D5 Visual Indicator provides an economical way to know at a glance when a filter element needs to be replaced. A variety of styles are available, but the D5 is a red/green pop up visual indicator.
It has come to our attention that several customers have noticed the D5 is a fragile item.
There have been reports of caps becoming dislocated thus leading our customers to believe shipping damage occurred.
This is not the case and it is our hope that this page can provide some insight and save a freight claim or two.

Important Note: make sure all components are inside the plastic covering before performing these steps.
Depending on the “damage” of the indicator upon receiving it, you’ll want to make sure all four (4) components are intact:
- Black holder
- Red/Green magnet
- Spring and Disc
Background: You’ve ordered a filter housing with the D5 Visual Indicator option included.
Problem: The cap of the D5 pressure gauge became dislocated during the shipping process.
Solution: Simply align the cap back up to the indicator port and snap back into place.
