When the pressure is on waiting weeks for bottle samples from an independent lab might not be an option. Oil analysis practices vary from lab to lab and once the sample is shipped off you no longer have control of the sample or how it is processed. This is where the oil patch test kit excels.</p><p>Oil Patch Test Kit measures operating parameters of a system, including pressure, temperature, flow and the presence of water. </p><p>This oil patch test kit from Schroeder provides the necessary tools to determine levels of both water and solid particulate contamination present in a particular fluid sample. The oil patch test kit is named for the patch method used to visually assess the amount of solid contaminants. Using the vacuum pump contained in the oil patch test kit, the fluid sample is drawn through a membrane patch. The residual dirt left on the patch is viewed under a microscope and compared to photos of known contamination levels in the Schroeder Contamination. Handbook (included) for a visual assessment. The handbook also provides photos of various contaminants to aide in identifying the type of particulate and its possible source(s).</p><p>The water sensing device included in this oil patch test kit is an aluminum mixing vessel with a small LCD display and microprocessor built into the lid. When the two reagents supplied in the kit (one liquid and one powder) are mixed with the sample fluid in the cell, the resulting chemical reaction causes an increase in pressure within the vessel.
