Position Summary:

It is the responsibility of the Engineer Associate I to provide the departments with engineering documents from the engineering record system for all company products. This position prepares engineering documents including Bills of Material (BOM’s), engineering specification sheets, and part information as needed as well as maintain the control systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Furnishes all departments with various engineering documents including, but not limited to: Bills of Materials, manufacturing drawings, engineering specification sheets, product nametag information, part information, engineering change orders and estimate sheets; maintains necessary data files and control systems for these documents and vendor quotes.
  • Assigns and controls part numbering system for new and revised items to be introduced into the system.
  • Coordinates the implementation of engineering changes with other departments.
  • Provides necessary information in the product structure as obtained from the engineers, manufacturing group and/or from the engineering data system for items to be structured; provides necessary information to the Purchasing Department for material and parts procurement from vendors.
  • Prepares estimates and prototype of products as required, as well as assists in coordinating the procurement of said prototypes.
  • Checks drawings for errors taking corrective action accordingly.
  • Assists in developing manufacturing methods in an effort to reduce costs, to standardize and to improve products; makes recommendations for manufacturing improvements where observed, performing time studies as appropriate.
  • Performs engineering and sales product research projects as assigned and approved by the Engineering Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Assists the design and manufacturing engineers in achieving the objectives of the department and corporation to produce quality products in a timely manner at the lowest possible cost.
  • Set up and operate 3D printers, order 3D printing supplies, works with Engineers and Drafting on prototype and production of 3D printed parts.
  • Contacts vendors for product development and cost reduction opportunities with recommendations to Engineering and Purchasing as appropriate.
  • Cross trains on different job tasks within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Position Summary:

  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on SI mechanical and electrical equipment and systems according to an established program.
  • Performs facility maintenance as required. This includes being responsible for all machines and equipment being in optimum operational condition consisting of changing of all oils, coolants, greasing’s, checking of all electrical hydraulics, pneumatics, components and cleaning, as well as checking functionality when finished.
  • Will work on production jobs in any of the manufacturing areas as needed.
  • Maintains and updates maintenance programs, schedules and records of work performed.
  • Maintains file of equipment service manuals and inventory of spare parts.
  • Maintains facility maintenance which includes but is not limited to new hook-ups, replacements, removals and set-ups of existing and new machinery including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic hook-ups.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Minimum of one years’ technical school training or on the job experience in mechanics and proven mechanical aptitude is preferred.

  • Disassembles filters returned to SI for credit, as required.

Position Summary:

The Rotomold Machine Operator is responsible for the overall operations of the machine and the manufacturing of good quality parts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Programs and maintains the operation of the rotomold machine, including set up, shut down, temperature adjustments, filling buckets with powder, pulling completed parts, scraping and cleaning, as per work instructions.
  • • Understands rotational molding process, mold preparation, basic mechanics, and minor maintenance including mold releases, cleaning of parting lines, burn time, temperature, cooling, etc.
  • • Knows characteristics of standard resins, the proper cure, and how to check the cure.
  • • Ensures good quality parts are being produced.
  • • Reads and follows the molding process sheets, corrects errors and reports to supervisor or lead.
  • • Knows the quality standards of the machine as well as the critical dimensions and characteristics of each part and how to check to maintain consistency.
  • • Effectively conducts a first part inspection to approve set-up.
  • • Communicates effectively with coworkers, supervisors, prior and subsequent shifts.
  • • Organizes and cleans work area following each shift.
  • • Stocks production materials appropriately.
  • • Performs other duties as assigned.
